Individual Slideshow for each manufacturer

I am trying to add an individual slideshow for each manufacturer, i. e. Slideshow 1 for apple, slideshow 2 for HTC, etc.

I have created a new layout pointing to the respective manufacturer under: System--> Design--> Layouts --> Layout Name: apple --> Route: product/manufacturer/info&manufacturer_id=8

Under Modules--> Slideshow I added a new Banner pointing to the Layout apple. However, the Slideshow does not appear. If I add a slideshow pointing to Layout Manufacturer, it is displayed in the manufacturer alphabetical overview as well as on each individual manufacturer page.

This does not make alot of sense and I guess I am missing something.

Any hints would be appreciated.
