Hello,

as discussed here: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=190&t=146599

ocMod has the bug of getting the store "Offline - in Maintainance mode" when something new is installed or it is refreshed !

Additionally, I also found out that ocMod has also destroyed some custom changes I had done on the template footer.tpl

It totally reset the theme to it's default and also DELETED custom php files I had in the directory:

"/public_html/system/modification/catalog/view/theme/XXXXXXX/template/common/"

Any ideas how this is possible ???

Any ideas how to persistently do things that will not be gone due to ocMod bugs ???

How does "modification" folder actually works ???

You shouldn't modify files in the modification folder. They will be removed when you refresh modifications in admin > Extensions > Modifications.
You should modifify original file, for example /public_html/system/catalog/view/theme/XXXXXXX/template/common/footer.tpl and refresh modification in admin > Extensions > Modifications to see the change.
This way helps OpenCart loads faster.
