Hi,

I just got an email from Paypal, I'm going to paste it here but I'm guessing something is changing with Paypal that I am currrently using.

I am on version 1.6.4. I am guessing this relates to the Paypal Pro Iframe module that comes as standard with OpenCart. So it would affect all versions after 1.6.4. Does anyone know what needs to be changed? Does OpenCart need to release a hotfix for this?

After 30th August all these carts are just going to stop working with Paypal Pro Iframe unless something is changed?

The email:
We are contacting you regarding a change that you are required to make by 30th August 2015.

PayPal has detected that you have hard coded the following Pro Hosted Solution URL in your code:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?c ... ed-payment

PayPal does not recommend hard coding. Instead, you should read the URL from the button creation API response.

If you must hard code this URL, you need to update it to the following: https://securepayments.paypal.com/webap ... ionProcess

You can find comprehensive instructions regarding the required integration changes on our Technical Support Help Centre: https://ppmts.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1231

Click the above link or visit the PayPal Technical Support Centre and search for article ID ‘1231’ or ‘Updating API Integration for Pro Hosted’ for instructions on ensuring that your payment processing is not interrupted when we stop supporting the current hardcoded URL.

Important: you must either read the URL from the button creation API response or update your hard code URL by no later than 30 August 2015. Otherwise, your existing hard coded Pro Hosted Solution URL will not be supported after that date.

If you require any additional support, our Merchant Technical Support team are on hand and ready to help. You can contact them by opening a ticket on http://www.paypal.com/mts

Thank you for your time.
Could someone help with this?

Thanks

I'm using 1.5.6.4
Does that mean I can just ignore this message from PayPal?

Appreciate any help as I'm a bit stuck :-)

Qphoria said there is no core mods with it hardcoded so I wouldn't worry about it. At least I am not.

Yes you can ignore. They are perhaps just globally emailing all paypal pro iframe users to recommend switching to their new api if not already.

Hi, are you sure none of the core files have hard coded URL's?

I ignored the email and Paypal are still emailing me requesting that I update. I even emailed them stating that Opencart does not use the hard coded URL's like you said but they said the update still needs to be completed. So there must be something flagging up their side which says I am using them?
