Hi all,

Just searched google for Leather Bazaar (my new business) and it came up on the first page. it never used to! I'm pretty impressed with this :)

I noticed though the text under the link is just product info...

I've gone into settings and changed the meta data to something else as all it said was Leather Bazaar.

Will this update eventually? I've attached a screenshot of what it says now. Have I done the right thing in changing the Meta Tag Description?

Thank you in advance! :)
Ben

Meta description is the bit that gets displayed in Google/search engines, but you ideally need to make sure that you've some text on the home page that contains something similar to what you've set as the meta description. If your description and home page aren't "similar" then you may be stung.

Timescale wise - who knows. Google can update in as little as a few hours or can take months

Thank you!

We do have some text on the home page too.

www.leather-bazaar.com

It's in the footer kind of area. It was added using the theme mod.

Will that be okay? :)

That's a very nice and calm website with a traditional look matching the products :)

Keep and eye on your font colours though, they sort of blend in too much with background I think.

Thanks Pennyprofits!

It's working but I think we need a more modern look. I have tons of ideas and information overload!

Thanks for the heads up about the fonts :)

Our developer works away so we tag up every other week at the moment with changes and get them all done in one :)

No worries, I understand the struggle... going through it myself lol

I think your look is fine, it matches your products to an extent...just need a bit of tweaking but that's my opinion.

Your "powered by" is repeated and the link is wrong too. Also I suggest getting the "alt=PayPal" "title=PayPal" added to the card pics in the footer as the one next to the paypal one is too small to read - at least the user can hover over it and it would display the text. I personally use: "We welcome cash" "We welcome Visa Debit" that kind of thing.
