Hello guys,

Ive been tryign to search this but not having much luck.

I have a few websites on my domain and my public folder is very messy now.

I'm looking to move the Opencart core files to a folder so i can easily make backups / mod files. Also cleaning up the public_html folder. (lets call it 'opencart')

Problem is i wish it to still be the host domain. so the customer sees also for seo urls and categories not just a at first redirect.

http://www.mywebsite.co.uk

not http://www.mywebsite.co.uk/opencart.

Is there a html access or a redirect feature that will work with this?

Hosting all my files in a folder called opencart but http://www.mywebsite.co.uk opens that folder. not 100% sure how opencarts functionality will work with this?

Ive seen about setting up Redirects via the cpanel but on some guides its showing this only works for the first instance. so http://www.mywebsite.co.uk lands on my page but then products seo urls would read?

http://www.mywebsite.co.uk/opencart/product

Any help / guides / some one to pay would be great thanks

Many thanks

Newbie

Google for:
>> URL+forwarding+meta+Tag <<
it's the easiest way. Or then, clean up your ROOT Mess... ::)
Any redirecting procedure would have negative effects on Google and Co., anyway.

Or then, create a Subdomain, server-path-directed to the Shop-Subfolder, inside of your Server ROOT Section, like:
http://shop.yoursite.com
(path: /home/sites/www/yoursite/shop/) or whatever...
would be the cleanest Solution.

That will not work.

your domain dns setup is to your public-html, putting it in a subfolder will have it go to yourdomain.co.uk/subfolder.

here is what you can try to do

create a addon domain for your domain name.
you will have a new folder for your addon domain.
set up dns for your domain name to go to addon domain.

put opencart in this folder and you should have direct access to it.
