I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it so that when the customer pays instead of taking them to log in using PayPal it first allows the credit card option. I know PayPal wants the log in to be the default but is there a way around this?
Hi there,
I think that will be hard. This is because by design, the Paypal payment gateway module itself (I believe) defaults to the Paypal option. This is because it is set by their company policy. It will use the Paypal option first (to use up any possible credits in the account) before defaulting to a bank account/credit card. http://www.werockyourweb.com/forums/top ... #post-4412
However if the Paypal client themselves has set up to use credit card as preferred setting first, then the credit card option will/should come up first on their screen.
Your alternative to all of this is to add another payment gateway to your setup which will accept credit cards, and then set that to Sort Order 1 and under Paypal Sort Order 2 under the Extensions > Payment menu. This will sort out your credit card vs Paypal issue. If you don't have a merchant account with a payment provider, and you are based in either the US, UK or Germany then I think the Checkout with Amazon may be an option for you, as that accepts credit cards. Simply install that in the Extensions > Payment menu by clicking the + sign, click Edit and enable it (adding whatever settings needed).
