Hi all,

I'm trying to set up the Worldpay payment gateway for a client running the latest version of OC (2.0.2.0) and the required information has changed from:

Merchant ID
Payment Response Password
etc

to

Service Key
Client Key, etc.

Having spoken to tech support at Worldpay, they have no knowledge of this information. Version 2.0.1.1 requires the correct information that Worldpay supplies but we don't have the option to downgrade our clients site.

Can anyone shed some light on what is going on here with the new Worldpay setup page in OC 2.0.2.0 or where I find the required information to set up the Worldpay gateway please?

Thanks in adnvace

All the information you require is in the backend of the customers worldpay portal. Its a bit confusing and I had a very nice Irish girl talk me through it. Basically you have to login to the portal as the main administrator to get all the client numbers and keys and things.

@ Paul C
Did you find a way to run OpenCart 2.0.2.0 with Worldpay?

I presume your client has an older Worldpay Business Gateway account as you say they work with Merchant ID/Payment Response Password?

It seems Worldpay have developed a new gateway called Worldpay Online which works on Service Key/Client Key. These options appear for the Worldpay Payment Module in OpenCart 2.0.2.0. If a client wants to move to Worldpay Online a new application is required according to Worldpay support.

Can anyone else advise if Worldpay Business Gateway can be made to work with OpenCart 2.0.2.0?

To be honest, our client moved over to SagePay as the whole process is a lot more straighforward and workd first time.

The fact that I spoke to Worldpay tech support and they didn't know anything about this required information didn't really inspire confidence tbh.

OpenCart support responded to a direct query:
You can try to contact to our partners to see if they can make an update on the WorldPay module for you
This is disappointing. The Changelog does not note that the Worldpay Business Gateway payment module has been removed.

To move from a Worldpay Business Gateway account to Online Payments requires a completely new application with Worldpay.

This seems like an odd decision when the Business Gateway payment module existed in 2.0.1.1. Surely that's going to cause a lot of hassle for anyone on Worldpay Business Gateway who upgrades and finds they can no longer accept payments.

Chris, I totally agree. The decision to completely drop the previous Worldpay method and move it over to an alternative version that means you either re-apply for the different account or you stay on the older version of OC is not good for a lot of people.

The last time I saw this type of decision making without concern or consideration for their userbase was from Interspire - one company I would never give money or time to again!

Surely it would have made more sense to keep the normal method and integrate the alternative method alongside this. It's not like many of the other payment gateways don't have various versions - Sagepay and Paypal are both good examples of this.

The only option to use Worldpay Business Gateway with OC 2.0.2.0 seems to be a product from Sellxed.

I don't particularly want to rely on a third party for something as important as the payment processing. Plus I'm going to look like a **** when I have to call my client and explain the situation.

And like you say there doesn't seem to be any reason why the Worldpay Business Gateway module from 2.0.1.1 can't be included alongside the Worldpay Online module from 2.0.2.0.

I remember looking at Interspire before selecting OpenCart back in 2010. Can't remember why but at the time OpenCart trumphed it for my requirements. Sounds like I could have dodged a bullet there.

I agree; it seems crazy to expect all our clients using one particular method to suddenly drop their existing payment gateway and re-apply for a different account.

It's not the best solution relying on third parties for payment modules; I always prefer them to be part of the core software. Updates generally cause less issues further down the line.

Interpsire started off great, but very quickly moved over to a subscription model and left all the people with the stand-alone product high and dry with no more updates or security / bug fixes to patch lots of issues.

We'll see what my client reckons. Damn sure I'd be pissed if a developer hit me with a curve ball like this half way through a project.

Maybe the fees will be favorable enough on the new account to soften the blow. And presumably Worldpay will retire the Business Gateway product at some point so the change is inevitable. The pay as you go option sounds good as this is a low volume site but it's high dollar value products so any saving may be wiped out with the transaction commission.

Worldpay state signup can be done in the time it takes for the kettle to boil and the account will usually be approved the next day. Any luck that'll hold true, I don't fancy any more surprises on this one.

Similar story with CactuShop. Went from Classic ASP to .NET from version 7 and I don't think previous versions receive patches.

Hi all, I've just finished a new site for a client and was about to set up the Worldpay module but then ran into the same issues as the rest of you.

Has anyone found a way of installing the Business Gateway module? I've just spoken to Worldpay and their suggestion was to contact Opencart and ask them to install the business gateway module for me as they have had other people that have managed to do it??!!

I work on around 20 different opencart sites that I was about to start upgrading but if the Businessgateway module is a gonner it might mean I have to look at different shopping carts rather than spend a fortune on 3rd party modules.

Any suggestions?
thanks in advance

Sellxed offer a Worldpay Business Gateway module:

http://www.sellxed.com/shop/en/opencart ... l?___SID=U

My client ended up applying for a new Worldpay Online account which they advertise can be active in 24hrs. In this case it took several weeks of additional checks even though the client has held a Business Gateway account with Worldpay for almost 10 years.

One thing to watch with Worlpay Online is the user's payment details are collected on the OpenCart website, it doesn't bounce them over to a Worldpay hosted payment page like Business Gateway did. So you need to be running an SSL Certificate from a Trusted Authority.

Worldpay support say a self signed certificate will suffice for testing (the Webhook can only be directed to an https URL). I'm working on this today so will find out for sure shortly.

Update:

I wouldn't bother contacting OpenCart. The response I received re. options to use Worldpay (Business Gateway) on OC 2.0.2.0 was disappointing:

Thanks for the reply @chris.dempsey.

Yeah I had seen the sellxed module but if it means having to pay £150-ish for each store then it's really not going to be worth it.

I'm signing up for a Worldpay Online account just now to give it a test run, I have SSL on my own site so it'snot an issue. I have noticed however that there is a massive difference in % and per transactions costs taken via 'ONLINE' and 'BUSINESS GATEWAY' I know for a fact that that will put customers off switching account types. 2.75 vs 1.2%!

I'll try contacting Opencart as well, maybe if enough people ask they will sort it?

Thanks again for the reply

My vote goes to reinstate the Worldpay Business Gateway module that was in earlier versions of OC 2.

There are several implementations of Paypal so I don't see why the same can't be true for Worldpay. Especially when the code is already written and tested.

Could not agree more, I am having a nightmare trying to find an affordable solution for this and opencart re-integrating it would make life so much easier. Ive added it as a suggestion of improvement over at http://opencart.uservoice.com/forums/52 ... al-worldpa

Go vote and share the link, see if it makes a difference :)

Vote cast.

I'm unsure what the official channel for this kind of request is. Not sure that it's technically an issue that can be raised on Github: https://github.com/opencart/opencart/issues

Any luck someone on the core team will notice this and be able to put this forward for consideration.

I've added the same request via Github as well, I really hope that they can do something with this.

Hi all, so there's some really helpful people over on GITHUB and there is a temporary hack/fix for this issue provided by @paulterry - you can view the thread at https://github.com/opencart/opencart/is ... -127282237

Pleased to see this is moving towards a permanent fix with modules for both Worldpay gateways.

One thing I learned that may be useful for others using Worldpay Online is their Webhook test facility fails if you have a self signed SSL certificate.

Obviously self signed is no use in production, I was hoping to delay the purchase until site launch and two members of Worldpay's team told me the Webhook test will complete, even on self signed.

Hi

Has the Worldpay problem been fixed with the latest release? - I'm using 2.0.3.1 and am having the devils own job getting WorldPay hooked up.

Thanks

I had the same problem, so what i did was find the worldpay files from the old version of OC2.011 and copied them over one by one into the same locations as they were in the old version to my install of the version OC 2.03.1, i have tested with would pay and seems to work fine, and did a live test myself on my own shop and it worked :)
So far no Problems, fingers crossed
