Unable to access site on 1.5.1.3

Hi

Currently running 1.5.1.3 - Yes I know I probably need to update.
and PHP 5.4

System was running fine a couple of days ago but now have just tried to login to my account via Admin and as a user.

In both cases the login fails. The system was working fine a couple of days ago and no changes have been made by me to the underlying system.

Have just spotted at the bottom of the admin page the following error
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in homepages/45/d85422968/htdocs/new/admin/index.php on line 82

On the normal user page
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /homepages/45/d85422968/htdocs/new/index.php on line 103

I have contacted my provider but they say nothing has changed. I have tried a reset password and while this generates the email I am still unable to login.

New accounts can still be created but unable to login

Also items can't be added to the cart.

I am running PHP 5.4

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
