Opencart 1.5.6.4 recently upgraded by Qphoria
LIVE Site: http://shop.pacherbs.com/

Problem: Strange bug where if a user is logged in and belongs to a certain Customer Group only (our wholesale customer group), they cannot access the checkout page. If you select "checkout" from the mini cart popup, it goes to the Shopping Cart page. If you are on the Shopping Cart page and click "checkout", nothing at all happens. The url looks like it's loading, but nothing at all happens. If you are NOT logged in as this one customer group, or simply not logged in at all, the cart works perfectly.

No error in dev tools. No error in Opencart admin logs. Even stranger, the bug sometimes seems to not happen in Google Chrome. But then try it agian later and it does happen. It seems to happen every time in Firefox.

To replicate the problem (In FIREFOX) go to http://shop.pacherbs.com/index.php?route=account/login (This is a LIVE site! So don't order anything, unless you want to..)

Login as: test@test.com Pass: test (this user belongs to the customer group with the issue)

Add a product to the cart. Go to the cart icon in the top and then click the Checkout link. If the bug is active, you will be sent to the cart page. Try to click the checkout button there, and nothing at all happens.

So, I don't even really know where to look on this issue. I feel it has to be a symptom of the recent upgrade somehow. Perhaps an extension conflict? Should I start disabling extensions?

Another note, the old version of opencart we were running, (I think it as 1.5.3.x but that's just a guess right now), it seems that none of the passwords used the Salt field in the database. Upon upgrading, there are now salt fields added to all existing users etc. But old password still do not have a value in the salt field. Would that have anything to do with this? Just a shot in the dark really.

This whole thing has to be an extension conflict right? Or could it be a core issue, perhaps related to the upgrade? I just wanted to get some feedback from someone who might have heard of a similar issue, and maybe some advice on how to proceed.

Thanks!!

He hasn't said anything yet actually. I assume he's busy.

Maybe start with the obvious then ...
Does the test wholesale acct meet the required settings as per the customer group (wholesale) itself? Checked settings under Admin > Sales > Customers > Customer Groups ... inc Company No reqd, Tax ID reqd.
Are u running any extensions that could affect who can purchase certain products inc this one?
Caches cleaned since setting up wholesale group?

It's solved.

And it was PAINFULLY simple, of course.

The customer group had a minimum order amount set that was higher than the orders being attempted.

(In Extensions / Order Totals / Min Order )

Ouch. I'm just going to let myself out the back door here....quietly.
