Hi is it possible someone can sort my shopping cart out for me please.

I sell items which are 0% VAT, 5% VAT & 20% VAT. when postage is added the postage needs to be the same VAT as the item in the cart.

ie if I sell a 0% item postage needs to be 0%
If I sell a 20% item the postage needs to be 20%
If I sell a mix 1 0% & 1 20% half the postage needs to pay 20% VAT

Can anyone help please. I dont no if I need the website changing or some thing adding

I believe I responded to your e-mail regarding this question. I'll post my response here for others to read:

For your situation, the only solution I have would be to create the shipping tax using a separate Order Total extension. You could do it with Ultimate Fee/Discount, by creating a percentage fee of the shipping cost. So for example:

Product A: 5% fee based on the shipping cost
Product B: no fee (because it's non-taxable)
Product C: 7% fee based on the shipping cost

So if the shipping cost was $25.00, it would result in a fee being added to the order of $25 x 5% + $25 x 7% = $3.00. Note that that would be separate from the Taxes line item, and would not affect tax reports in OpenCart, so it may not work for your situation.

Feel free to take a look at the screenshots and demo site, and if you're interested let me know if you have any further questions at www.getclearthinking.com/contact
