add sub-total & item price also in 'add to cart' pop up box?

Dear Seniors,

I am very new to this opencart cms... i have been using this from last 3 weeks to develop an e-commerce site... however i have now understand how it works... i am stuck in something here...

please help me to show the price of the item which we add in that pop up box when we click "add to cart" button... currently, its just showing like " Success!, you have successfully added 'this' item to your shopping cart.".. i want to have 'this' item's price and sub-total price of all the items in the cart for that session as well.... i have tried it myself though but couldnt get it done..... i have checked in cart.php of language folder... i tried to add <?php echo $total['title']; ?> <?php echo $total['text']; ?> which i copied from top right's pop up window which will be seen when we click at "cart button".... i also tried putting json[total] in common.js in view folder but its not getting my luck...

please help me how can i show added item's price and sub-total of the total items for that session in add to cart popup box..
