Hi, I am trying to import a product list for an online shoe shop, so the productoptionvalues include UK and EU shoe sizes. The problem occurs when I enter half sizes (as x.5) into the option_value column, for example, 5.5. When I import this updated spread sheet, it works perfectly. The second time I export to make further changes and then reimport, the half sizes I originally added/created remove the .5 on all products, so I end up with duplicate options that appear as the same size. Eg, the drop down on the product reads available sizes as 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7 etc. This obviously creates a problem with stock levels as I now no longer know which quantity I have of the half sizes.

This problem seems to be between the way excel and the import/export tool read the cell formatting as these numbers are stored as text. I have checked that MySQL is also storing these values as text, so I don't know why it's removing the .5 from the option_value cells.

hope you can help

Thanks

I'd guess the problem is being created by Excel - here's a couple of things the check ...

When doing the import, make sure the decimal point " . " is not permitted as a cell separator
Check the formatting for the column where the sizes are stores - ensure there is at least one decimal place allowed

Don't know if it'll help, but hope it does.
