Hello

I am trying to create an external link in a product description and I cannot get it to work.
I am running Open cart 2.0.1.1
The crux of the issue is as soon as I save the page it replaces any quotation ie " or ' with \" or \" which makes the link invalid. Even if I manually enter the code it does it.

This happens anywhere in the text and is driving me mad as I cannot find a solution.

Any help is much appreciated.

Kind regards

Could you provide your site url and a admin account via PM, so I can take a look at the problem closer?

I have just moved my site to a clean install because of this problem and now it is doing it on the new install. Trying to use you tube videos and this happens. Every time I save it adds more

<p><iframe frameborder="\"\\"\\\\"0\\\\"\\"\"" height="\"\\"\\\\"315\\\\"\\"\"" scrolling="\"\\"\\\\"no\\\\"\\"\"" src="\"\\"\\\\"http://www.youtube.com/embed/92q3tlhihFw\\\\"\\"\"" width="\"\\"\\\\"560\\\\"\\"\""></iframe></p>

If you want to insert HTML code into the product description (or any other "description" field, eg. categories, informations, etc.) you must use code view, not a WYSIWYG view.

The only way I could do it was to use the code view only to add code then save. If you go to code view add your code then look at the normal view then save it goes belly up so don't switch between views before saving

Sorry folks, but testet right now to embedd a link like <iframe .. etc..> into the description field.
Switched several times between html-code and normal view, and saved also a few times.
The code did not change one time and is intact also after doing that 10 times.

Could it be that

Code: Select all

magic_quotes_gpc
is enabled on your server?

Exactly! I've added "php_flag magic_quotes_gpc off" in .htaccess and works perfect!
