Moving website directory

Hi there,

I need some work doing which should be simple, but eludes me. I have a development website which needs to go live now (asap!). It is in a hidden sub-directory called /v2 and uses its own database. The live website now needs to be taken down and replaced with the development one. The live website should for backup reasons be moved to a sub directory called /v1.

I tried moving my site - altering the config.php files in root and admin, altering htaccess - however all I got was a blank screen. I have now reverted it back and all works fine.

Can someone quote me for this simple job please? I can provide all FTP, phpmyadmin and Opencart login details as needed.

I don't understand your'e talking about some 'hidden' Subdirectory. You CANNOT create a 'technically' HIDDEN Sub (i.E.by chmoding the Sub to less than 7xx, I guess), and expect anything to work, since you have files inthere, requiring to be r/w-status.

Thanks for your reply Ernie. I simply meant I have 2 versions located on the same domain name. One is in the root and the other is another physical directory (e.g. /dev) and each has its own DB. They both work at the moment. I am simply trying to make the development one live.

Either redirect via your CPanel or simply rename both and change also the 2 config.php.
