Front End Password Extension Suggestion

Our store has a list of categories and products. But I would like to have one category that is password protected.

Sort of like an "Employee Only" area, where you would need to enter a password to be able to access that category. I have done some searching around the Extensions area and I didn't really see anything like this. Does anyone know of such an extension already available (preferably a VQMOD)

The reason is sometimes we have odd orders that may require custom/special pricing on certain items for certain customers. And I want to be able to have those options listed in a "private" category that isn't visible/accessible to everyday customers.

You can have customer to category assignment.
So category will be seen only to those customers on login.

The problem with that is a lot of our customers do not want to be forced to create an account.

Unless. Would that extension allow me to create a group for "employee's" and then when they log in, only that group would be able to see that private category? Is that how that extension works?

Is the "private" category invisible to people not in the specified group?

Btw, is that customer to category assignment, something built into OC already, or were you referring to a specific extension?

I will have to design that extension as per your need.

yes, that category can be kept hidden from other customers.
Only one customer group can see that category.
