I am building a website using OC 1.5.6.4 and, at first, everything seemed to be working fine.
The URL is: http://www.devilonline.it

Then, during the installation of an extension, something happened and I got an Internal Server Error.
So I manually removed this extension and changed the php.ini configuration of the server, switching from "default" to "HTTP_extension" which is the suggested configuration for OC and which I had already used some time ago for another OC installation.
No more Error 500 at this point.

Now I have detected a big problem: all the VQMod extensions which I have installed do not affect the front-end, e.g. Dependent Options does not work, EU Cookie Law Italian Responsive does not show any alert on the page etc.
The code modifications are not applied to the pages even though the VQMod Manager Error Log does not show anything.

I would like to point out that the extensions work fine in the back-end, e.g. Dependent Options additional fields are shown in the product options page but not added to the front-end.

I have no idea about what happened and need help.

Thanks in advance for the attention and assistance.

So this is where it all goes downhill ... what extension? What is 'http_extension' re php.ini file?
Have you tried switching back from whatever 'http_extension' is back to 'default', clear the vqmod cache and checking other vqmods?

The problem seems solved: I tried reinstalling VQMod and got this error: ONE OR MORE FILES COULD NOT BE WRITTEN.

So I checked all the permissions of folder /vqmod and files and found that mods.cache had 644, changed to 755, tried to reinstall and this time I got the message: VQMOD ALREADY INSTALLED.

Now the extensions work fine in the front-end again.

I hope this may help someone else which is experiencing the same issue.
