Hello.

We know that index's in the database increase by a loooot the performance of the queries, so does that designed in the new OC 2.x ?

I know OC 1.x does not and that is sad.

Whoever told you 1.x doesn't use indexes told you wrong. It does. 2.x has expanded them (e.g. url_alias table) but you'd have to review the code to know the full extent.
