adding conditions

dear friends
lets say im selling shirts and ties.. there is a category for shirts and a subcategory for ties.. what i want to do is ties subcategory should only be visible to peoples who buy shirts.. how can i do that

In your Category or Subcategory for Ties, edit that Ties Category and select "Data" and uncheck the box that says "Top", so it will not appear in the menu.

I don't know what "Filters" is or does, so that might be something related to this.

I also don't fully understand "Attributes" yet.

You can add related products to products from the individual products page, seems like it would be easier to add categories though, but not sure if adding related categories is possible.

one issue you may have doing like this
is you state sub-cat should only be visible to those that buy shirts

which means they would have needed to complete a purchase to have bought the shirt
in that case you can create a group and add anyone that buys a shirt to that group and make the sub-cat only visible to that group

but if you want the sub-cat only visible after someone adds a shirt to their basket, then thats a bit different

i see you also posted a similar request for shoes and socks etc.

you could probably do with being a lot more specific in what you desire and also do not desire, so people can help you better.

i do think your other topic may be more on point of what you need, and i think it is likely you are better contacting a dev directly to get a quote, as i dont think what you need is provided out of the box

ie. products from category B can only be added to basket if the basket already contains a product from category A
is this more what you are looking for ?

i am about to add something similar to what you want but here is my suggestion,
so both items can have their own product page
you simply overprice the socks, and offer a combined discount when purchased with shoes

that way if someone does buy socks you dont mind as you have over priced them heavily
and if someone buys both shoes and socks they feel better as they are getting a discount

that is exactly what i want ,you MUST add a shirt to the basket to see the ties sub catagory. do you know any dev? i live in sri lanka.. it is difficult to find one here
