Hi, i just wanted to report a bug in the v1.3.0 install process.

I just did a fresh install of open cart v1.3.0 and picked the table prefix that i had used previously with v1.2.9, after the install where it says "Congratulations! You have successfully installed OpenCart" i went to view the shop but i got an error. The two config files had the prefix i had chosen written to them but looking in phpMyAdmin i noticed all the tables started with the prefix oc_ instead.

So i dropped all the tables in the database and cleared the configs and reinstalled but this time i didnt choose a prefix as it says its optional so i presumed it would just default to oc_. After the install the tables in phpMyAdmin did still start with oc_ but this time the config files under prefix had nothing as a prefix giving me another error.

Again i dropped all the tables in the database and cleared the configs and third time round i picked oc_ as the prefix during the install and now the shop works fine as the configs match the database, so it seems people have to choose oc_ when installing otherwise it wont work.

(i know i could of just edited the two configs the first time round to show oc_ for prefix so it matched the database but i was just testing the problem)

In v1.2.9 having no prefix or using my own prefix both worked fine, ideally i would like to use my own prefix so i look forward to a fix.

Many thanks in advance.

I had did the same thing adding prefix oc_ to the install and it worked. I did run into another problem after install when I went to restore my data
Error: Table 'cart_test_32_mess719.address' doesn't exist
Error No: 1146
TRUNCATE TABLE `address`

I am still learning all this stuff so I am totally clueless unless I found info on the boards

sorry if I should had start a new thread
Thanks

I saw in another post you updated the v1.3.0 zip with a fix for this so i gave it a try and it installed ok with the prefix of my choice.

Thanks for the quick fix.

I have been having fun and games with backup/restore also.

New to OC.

At first I found that the email was not working. Then found that it does not work Streamline.net on Linux server. So switched to Windows server. Email was then working.

Before making the switch I did a backup. And just to be sure, copied the entire OC folder to my local PC.

Restoring to a new installation, and a new database was problematic if I used a name for the prefix. Was gtting the error 1146 that comiclair was seeing.
Leaving the prefix blank (in my case) resolved this, and the SQL was restored.

I had not initially realised that the backup process does not actually back up all of the necessary data.
It was necessary to restore the 'download' and the 'image/data' folders by FTP.

What else needs to be restored by hand?
Not everyone is technically minded, and it would be helpful to have a list of folders and files which have to be backed up by FTP. If the list were on the backup/restore page that would be helpful.

I guess I should have said more clearly:

Restoring into a new installation from a backup that was done on a different installation (both v1.4.0):

Could not get the restore to work if I used the previous prefix. Only worked if I used no prefix.
