Very slow search(20+ secs)

Good afternoon all,

We are using opencart 1.5.6.4 on our site and all the pages seem fine with regards to load times apart from the search. Whenever we search for a product e.g model number etc it takes 20seconds give or take a second each time. Is there anything we can try to speed this up as most customers will have left by time it finishes searching.

We run our site on a dedicated server with the following spec:

Intel Xeon CPU 4 x 3.3 GHz
RAM 8 GB
2 x 1 TB HDD

Sir,

there must be some other error on server when search is made.
You need to debug as which part is taking the most time for search.

Can you advise the best way of debugging this and seeing what is causing it?

Use error log at different point in the controller file of search.

And check timing. Where is the biggest lag in time. And there you will find the issue.
Mostly it will be in mysql query.
