I having problem with this tool. My products are missing - it disappeared.
As first I exported product list then I imported (Deleted all old data before Import).
And now I can't see then in admin panel - but they are displaying on web and in xls file while exporting again.
Please help me. How can I recover produt list ?

I found out this issue is conected to multilanguage options.
After import, all product data in table: "oc_product_description" exist but only for 1 language - this is the reason I can't see product list in admin panel.
After I copied all rows in table "oc_product_description" with different "language_id" parameter, products appered.
Please help me. Why the tool is not working ?

If your admin language is different from your default frontend language, then yes, you'd have to specify your product and category descriptions (name, description etc) in both languages.wilek666 wrote:Dear all,

I too have an extension to products that I require to export/import. I am a complete novice so wouldn't know where to start to add support to additional fields in the export.php. How much would you charge to do this please?

'Permission Denied!'

Please follow the instructions in the readme.txt file:
Step 3)
Before using this newly installed Export/Import feature for the first time, you must set the
access rights for top administrator as follows:
In the admin interface, choose
System > Users > User Group
From there, select 'Top Administrator', then click on the 'Edit' link to the right.
This will open up an edit window with multichoice dropdown lists for 'Access' and 'Modify' rights.
In both of them, you'll see a new entry for 'tool/export' which you can select by clicking
on their check boxes.

That works, which is good. The problem with that is I need it so my client can just export the file, then change things he needs to change, then re-import it. Since it exports with values of "1" not "true" that doesn't work. This is the case with the category "status enabled", category "top" and products "status enabled". That is how it worked on previous versions I've used. For now I just changed the model file myself, but thought you'd like to know since I do think that is the intended behavior.

I would like to know how do we delele these categories and products from the site as they are just the samples that came with it.
I want to then import our new cats and prods.
I already have them on another 1.5.2.1 site.
Would I use this tool to export them from that site then import them into the new site, or would I import the whole sql or ?

I am also getting problems using the import/export tool in a brand new install of OC 2.0.1.2 - the only other extension installed is vQmod as per the OC installation guide.

I tried to import the 1.5.2.1. db into the 1.5.6.4 site however I got this error..
Would this be because xls is the 1.5.6.1 spreadsheet and xlsx is the 1.5.6.4 one.
I opened the xls in Excel then saved it as xlsx then tried to import it but still got the same message.
What is the best way for me to import the 1.5.2.1 into the 1.5.6.4

I have just installed the latest ver2-26-OC1564 and I exported category and products from 1 oc1564 shop(all default) to another oc1564 shop(all default), the option I choose for exporting was all default that is 1-category for category export and 2- Products (including product data, options, specials, discounts, rewards and attributes) for products export and then imported the same to a fresh new install of OC-1564(all default), now the category import using option-2-No (Delete all old data before Import) went through properly and all was good. In product import I choose the same option-2-No(Delete all old data before Import) and did the import but I get error message
"Uploaded spreadsheet file has validation errors!
