morning
I'm having trouble setting up the email engine within V1.5.6
If I set Mail Protocol to "Mail" all of the internal emails from the back end work, order confirmation and sending order processing updates to the customer, However, the "email a link" function for site visitor use, does not work. No error messages.
If I change to SMTP and use a dedicated mail account set up on the same server, the Backend emails stop working, but the "front end, email a link" function does!
Is there something fundamental that I'm doing wrong?
Cheers

Hi,
Im also having a lot of issues with my mail set up.
Do you mind if i ask how did you set it up? did you managed to use different email addresses for different section or everything goes from/to email that you provided in general settings?
Im trying to set it up, only getting new customer email sent and received, contact form doesnt work, im getting nothing, no email about new order either.
I would appreciate any help.
Cheers

in the Mail settings, have you added a parameter in the Parameter field ?
i.e. -fyou@yourdomain.com
Some servers will not send email if the from address does not match the domain the email is sent from
So, for orders etc it is fine because the domain in the from address will be the same as the domain the site is on
For contact page emails, the from address will be the domain of whatever the user sending the email has input.

We have remaining issues with mail as well. We've posted in what appeared to be the relevant thread, but have no response yet.

Was hoping a "guru" would come in with a "one line solution!"
So what is not working right now?
