I'm looking for an extension that will allow staff to easily create temporary sales that effect all products. So, for example, they'd need to be able to reduce all marked prices by 50% and then turn off the sale at any point.

My store uses optionsBoost so it'd need to be compatible with that too.

Thanks.

I have a Total-Based Fee/Discount extension, which can give a discount on all items that are added to the cart. However, note that it is an Order Total extension.

Order Totals do not affect the price shown in the cart -- only "Special" prices can do that. Order Totals are automatically activated when the criteria are met, and show up as a line item on the order. If you want to inform the customer of the possible fee or discount, you'd need to do so some other way, such as a banner or HTML module.

If you want to actually modify price display, you'd need to use the product Special prices. I do have a Bulk Product Editing extension that can mass-edit Special prices in bulk, and it does support percentages. However, it calculates the Special price at the time the product is edited, so if you later change the price, the Special will not change accordingly (since OpenCart does not support this feature by default).

Feel free to take a look at the screenshots and demo site, and if you're interested let me know at www.getclearthinking.com/contact if you have any further questions.

Wow, that's a really messy way of having to apply a sale. Is there seriously no better way of implementing a half price sale across all products on opencart?

There might be an extension that changes how Special prices work, but I don't know of one. Perhaps someone else that does will post here -- otherwise, try searching the extension store.

Hello,
It can be done in bulk with the application called Store Manager for OpenCart.
Using it you need to run import and during import use the expression. Expression is some specific formula, SQL rule implementing which user can input necessary information or change values. You can read more about using expressions - http://www.opencartmanager.com/useful-a ... -opencart/
In next versions of Store Manager the mass price changer feature will be added without need to use import.
Here is 14-days free trial version of Store Manager for OpenCart -
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... rch=import
So you can try out this solution and let me know me if it was helpful.
