Im currrently having a problem with the extension Option Based Taxes

Whats happening is that when adding a product to the cart with a option that has been marked as taxable goods it then replaces any tax already in the cart with the amount for the product/option selected rather than adding on to it.
hope that makes sense
any ideas?
