Fixing errors on Installed Open cart site and new module

Hi I have a opencart 1.3.4 site and looking for someone to fix a few errors on the site - The BCC doesn't work which has been installed for the mail function and when sending a newsletter through the mail function if you create the newsletter in html first and upload the files seperately you get a long error coming up:

I have Q's excellent guest module on the site which allows guests to sign up for the newsletter I need a module showing all newsletter sign ups in a seperate section (guest and full account) with the ability to delete the emails and add to them.

I have installed OpenCart 1.4.0 and I get exactly this same error when sending an email from Sales | Mail, if I insert an image in the Message body.

You get the same 2 errors repeated for every image you insert in the Message Body.

i.e.

Warning: filesize() [function.filesize]: stat failed for .........
Warning: fread() [function.fread]: Length parameter must be greater than 0 in .........

In this case the email arrives as an HTML email without the image but shows the image placeholder.

Also if I don't insert an email, there is no error at the time of sending the email but the email that is received ceoms up as raw text with the email headers inthe message body and an attachment of the HTML. This is the case when you have Outlook Email Client.
