Extension Installer

Please explain how to use the extension installer. Every time I try it I get the following: Invalid file type!
I have tried to upload zip files and xml files, always the same error message.

Same here.. Cant really see the point in releasing it when it does not even run the basics live Vqmod manager.

It seems to want an .XML file but unless its in the wrong format it does say wrong file type for me also.

I feel the same, if it don't work, don't release it. VQMOD won't work either, can't use any of the few modules available. Hope we get some answers soon, or will probably go back to OC Commerce.

Ah Ah so its not just me. I just expected things that are the bread and butter of Opencart like VQmod would already have been updated.

I even have a basic xml mod and that does not work so what the hell have they done to version 2.0 to make it so unuseable??

I tried this one vqmod_admin_ajax_edit_product_list_category.3.4.xml and no go....BUT the frustrating thing is the support site for these mods have not been replied to for months Chances of updating them are looking remote..

You would think one of their experts would have responded with an answer on how to make it work, or at least an expected fix date! NEVER had a problem with OC Commerce but heard so much good about Open Cart decided to give it a try, kind of sorry I did so now.

I am guessing here so dont take me for gospel BUT it may be the guys who developed VQmod are peed at the way its going..... and just being stubborn?

I just found this from the Author of Vqmod.

"Not to worry, vQmod 2.5.0+ is fully compatible with 2.0 so you always have the fallback to vQmod "



Seems like many are saying the extension installer is harder work and a security issue.

Even when I use VQMOD the extensions do not show up under modules. So I do not know what to do.

Dont forget you have to activate them under settings / users/ user groups / etc

mine show up but I get major errors.

Vqmod is compatible but NOT VQmod manager. Two different things...

vQmod should work with it. VQMod Manager doesn't because I haven't rewritten it for OpenCart 2.0 yet. There were a lot of changes from 1.5.

LOL he means the Author of Vqmod, like me he was confused to start with. With the new Ocmod and extensions its getting even more confusing for us mere mortals. ;0
