Hi Guys,
Now that 2.0 has been release i'm wanting to get started with making a new template for my shop.

Is there a template tutorial? Is it comming soon?

Thanks,

you could create a new design by use of the default Theme Template. Can't see a better way,
more, why should someone write a manual on how to do it, if a basic Theme exists?!

The structure of the template does not have many changes. Everything is as in the 1.5.x Opencart version

I to would like to see some form of guide. I have had a play with the template and the general theming is not that different and is fairly easy to edit (colours etc).

However I would like to edit and change some of the responsive elements of the design, this is where i am stuck.

a couple of examples.

I personally don't like the way the add to cart button and price gets placed below the description on a "phone" view. I would like it to be immediately below the image so the customer does not have to work to hard to find it.

Also on phone view the footer boxes all goe vertical. Iooks to me like they need not do this and perhaps they can go 2 above 2 instead?

it is these kind of changes that are new to me and would welcome guidance on

It's not possible to assist you, just like that. It would require someone to install your Theme on a Site and do it, by hand, step by step, according to your wishes, and done to match the Smartphone-Type and Resolution, you requested. For this, a similar Smartphone would even be required in order to check the work and make sure, your'e satisfied with the result.
Could take many hours of work , to make you happy, I would not expect to get so much, done just for fun of it, it's more like a PRO-Job..., and, as you wrote, there's more to come as well.

Create a TASK-List, with 'constructed' images, if possible, and publish it in the Commercial Section, it's what I would do...

Good Luck

Yupp, that why. Some style is loaded from the bootstrap and some in the theme style-sheet. How to handle this...? Change the bootstrap? Overwrite via theme style-sheet?

We don't need a book, just some guidance how to do it based on the default theme.
