So, running some page load tests on my site, absolutely ridiculous results!
Some times up to 6 - 7 seconds to pull the page according to http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/
Looking at the results, it would seem it is server related! Also, I am running VQMOD with a few modules and addons installed!
Also, making changes in the back end, adding, editing products and options etc, VERY slow. Takes almost 7 - 10 seconds for a product changes to save!

Here is something you can do to further improve your results:
1) Optimize images with adding width and height in controller html itself.
2) Minimize css and combine.
3) Minimize javascript and combine.
4) Make use of browser caching using htaccess.

If this site is accurate it seems your host may be overloading your shared IP 184.170.252.36:

If the database keys IP_CAM suggested dont work i would talk to your host about getting a less packed server or a small VPS, or move hosts

just to note: I added a table to the DB by PHP_Admin, then I used the ATOMIX Turbo-PHP, because I wanted to index the additional Tabe to match the setup. I did NOT change the Engine to InnoDB on this DB yet, because during my tests, I could not see a dramatic increase of speed, compared with the default MySQLi MyISAM engine setup.
After doing the indexing routine, I was suprised to find MyISAM as well as InnoDB entries, when the turbo.php listed all the DB Sections after indexing! Those InnoDB Lines seemed to have been created, when installing certain VQMOD-supported Modifications. Then, I checked some of them and I found them to be InnoDB-written...
Therefore, I assume, it works, but it would be much better not to have such in a DB, when peeking for best performance. An 'turbo.php engine-update' after installation of any DB-related Mod should therefore be made.
BTW: the french 1.5.6.1 OC version had a 'two way switchable DB-engine' Admin Option. (but no indexing!)

About that thought...We used 2 dev stores, both were identical. Ran turbo fully on one, ran only critical keys on the other -- both ran same speed (way faster). So you dont really need to key all tables, but the turbo is nice and easy. Doesnt "hurt" persay.
Next we made 1 of them inno with that turbo tool. Extremely minute difference. Its not worth the switch really unless you have a very specific use case. If you didnt know one was different, visited the sites side by side, you would never be able to tell one was slightly faster without multiple loads using a performance measuring tool...its not worth it

Maybe you could try at peak hour time cause ive noticed its quite intermittent

Sure. When are your peak traffic times? Just had another look now and the first 2 pages I loaded took a good 5 seconds then it was plain sailing.
Cool machines too btw. I'd love one if I had the cash. Helicopter pilots that do film work probably aren't fans haha

So here we go again, literally took a client over 30 minutes to login, add items to cart and checkout and pay via paypal today right in front of my eyes.
Some results. Can someone tell me if this is server related or what in earth is going on, this is NOT a good look and quite honestly if I came across a website like this, id be gone after the first page view simply for the speed factor!
I dont believe its DNS related, but im getting a 5+ second wait time on receiving the data. Whether this is server or page related im not sure but these times are ridiculous!

Just looking at Ernie's earlier post. Looking at opencart-turbo.
Does this support 1.5.6 and what are the possibilities of things going tits up? The last thing I feel like doing is restoring all databases and the root directory.
