I am trying to install vqmod on my Opencart (1.5.6.4) site.

I've downloaded the latest version and FTP'd it to my root directory. I have made the vqmod, install and vqcache directories writable (777), as well as the sites index.php and admin/index.php files.

However, whenever I try to access either mysite.com/vqmod or mysite.com/vqmod/install I get a 403 error.

Anyone know what I can do to resolve this? I'm running a LAMP server.

Many thanks

Some hosts do not like / allow 777 try changing to 755 and see what happens.

In case anyone else has this problem - Mike your suggestion worked, thank you!

I've been trying most of the day to fix this issue, and it seems it was just the permissions. Had to allow 777 during vqmod installation as 755 returned the access error. Once installed, I changed the permissions back to 755 and so far it seems to be fixed! Using version 2.0.3.1

Thanks again :)
