please help...just trying to finish my website!!

Hi,

Am getting very frustrated trying to do what should be simple stuff!! I am a complete novice so please any answers as simple to follow as possible!!
1. I want my background image to show on the homepage ONLY. How can I do this?

2. I want to change colour, weight and size of the 'welcome' and 'login' , 'create account', and the 'Powered by' text .

3. I want to adjust the size of the footer box that has the information, customer service etc in it.

Any help with all of this would be fantastic. As I say I am a total novice so please can you reply with very simple to follow steps. Thanks.

Find catalog > view > theme > YOUR THEME > stylesheet > stylesheet.css

on or around line 290 you should find #header #welcome

you can change the welcome message here.

around line 1620 you should find #powered

you can change the powered text here

3. I want to adjust the size of the footer box that has the information, customer service etc in it.

around line 1600 you should find #footer .column you can change the width here. just remeber if you make them too wide one will be blow the others

Many thanks for your reply. Regarding the text, I don't want to change what it says, I just want to change size, colour, and weight for each.
Also, for the footer, I actually want to change the 'depth' rather than the width?
