Questions:
  1. Does this create a new store? Or does it just provide a visualization layer?
  2. Does this support multilingual? Or, if monolingual only, does this support non-English languages?
  3. Does it support exclusively Android payment options? e.g. If on the app I want to allow Google Checkout, but in my web shop I don't want to make that available.
  4. Are homescreen widgets for featured products, newest products and top offers included?
  5. Can I request a particular color scheme?

Finally was able to download and check out the demo. Still have questions
  1. I assume that the logo and store name on top of app is replaced by my store name and logo. What about the app name, and color scheme (e.g. color of product names, links, add to cart buttons, etc)?
  2. There are 4 icons on top. Can I name them?
  3. What about language? Can I have the app in my (non-English) language?
  4. I use Qphoria's Uber Checkout instead of standard OC checkout. Will Uber Checkout work in the Android app?
  5. I don't like the links OC puts in footer by default. In my site, I change the whole footer to match the footer of the rest of my site. Can I do the same for the Android application?
  6. I don't want to list newest products on landing page of app. Instead I want to list categories with photos. Is that possible?
  7. Finally, are homescreen widgets for featured products, newest products and top offers included?

Android Store has theme that you saw in our demo. Since you are an developer i don't think is a problem for you to customize colors how you want (if you don't like colors used by us)
In top area is store logo (that can be changed from admin), store namem and search button
Android Store exensions for opencart has language file, where you can change text, or similar to default language (english) provided by us you can use what language you want
By default extension is designed for default checkout
Yes, require to change footer controller and tpl (same action you did for your store)
Android store has aditional extensions like: Special offer, lastest, bestseller (If you check our help you will find info about all)

Thank you for the reply. A few clarifications needed:

So, basically, if I create a categories module and place it on Andoid Home layout, I should get what I want?

I don't think that answers my question. I hope you include homescreen widgets in the .apk http://developer.android.com/guide/topi ... index.html

Meaning Uber Checkout will not work?

So, does that mean that very little is built into the .apk, and that the app is mostly a container to open pages from my web store? Don't get me wrong - if that's the case, I don't think that's bad...I think that's a decent way of cheaply creating and maintaining an app. But just asking to understand what might be required from my end to customize it...

Hi,

We choosed that method to allow customer that don't like our default theme to customize via css file and tpl.

How you know tpl file can't be changed after you receive file from us.

BUT, for example if you don't like background color you just need to goto catalog/view/theme/yourtheme/template/android_store/stylesheet/android_store_stylesheet.css and there you can change color (or what you want to change) and you customer will see changes when he open your store app on his phone.

ALL THIS: ONLY in case you don't like our default theme.

Again that means in not necesary to recompile apk after every change.

Yes, I think it is a good idea to create a relatively dumb, browser-like .apk so it's made cheaply and doesn't require huge maintenance...no compiling again and again for every little change.

Of course there isn't deep integration into the OS, but frankly most small business owners (folks who use OpenCart) care more about availability on the platform than deep integration.

So, I don't have any problems with that. I was just asking to make sure I understand correctly your approach.

One question I still have is this
I hope you include homescreen widgets in the .apk http://developer.android.com/guide/topi ... index.html
These widgets could be based on the 4 key modules: latest, features, bestsellers, popular.

If we are going to have an Android app, I think it would be travesty not to supply homescreen widgets.

P.S. This is my 1000th post :joker:

At this time we expect/waiting suggestion for blog extensions

I have been having trouble with the store. The problem is with categories
http://domain.com/en/android_store/category_list lists categories but when you click on a category you get a blank page
e.g. http://domain.com/en/android_store/category?fspath=201 even though the category id given to fspath is correct
This is in contrast with product pages which seem to load ok http://domain.com/en/android_store/prod ... duct_id=65

Please help.
