Dating site

Hi i am new to open cart i just wanted to ask if this software could be used to create a dating site or are there any addons i can use to create a dating site.....many thanks to all

Opencart is a shopping cart, therefore it is designed to sell products.

But, saying that, OC is also very easy to modify, so you might be able to turn it into a dating site. Could be a fair bit of work !

I have used opencart in the past for various sites other than selling products. an Artists gallery for example.

Even *Cough* a massage palour.

However, for a dating site, too much work in my opinion. You would need to include the ability for each user to maintain their own profile, while letter others search for other users. You would need a messaging system etc.

This is just the most basic of things you would need, none of which comes with Opencart, nor is there an extension as far as I am aware.

It would probably be easier to use something like Joomla, which already has these functions and add-on's for the rest.

There is a programme called Dolphin, I have heard mixed reviews about it so can't comment any further than that.
