Multi store pick up on limited products

Hi guys,

I've looked at so many extensions and just need some help in finding one that will do what I need.

Basically I need multi store pickup but only on some items.

Ideally I'd like location(s) for each product. e.g. item1 in store A and C and Warehouse. Item2 only in Warehouse so no pickup.

I also have some items that can not be shipped.

Loads of the extensions I've looked at only seem to work at the checkout process with no way of showing the location of the item on the item page.

Any pointers?

One idea would be to use the Manufacturer to display the location (e.g. Pickup Only, or Warehouse A). The location would then be clearly reflected on the product page, and you could use Manufacturer-Based Shipping to determine the actual shipping costs.

If that doesn't seem like it will work, you could also use an option with a single value for the location (e.g. "Location: Pickup Only") so it would appear on the order everywhere. You could then use Ultimate Shipping to determine the shipping costs based on option.

Because the standard shipping system does not allow shipping methods to modify product pages, you're not going to find one that will make the modifications for you on the product page. If those two solutions don't seem like they will work, you'll probably need a custom modification created for you.

If you need to find a developer for that, I recommend you post a request in the OpenCart "Commercial Support" forum (forum.opencart.com/viewforum.php?f=88), which is checked by a number of OpenCart developers. Hi Johnathan, I've seen extension hacks that us the product Location field , but wondering if you or anyone has seen one that uses something like "storeA, StoreB, Online" in the location field that then could tie into a shipping extension?

Ultimate Shipping can use any product data field, so you could use three of them (e.g. MPN, JAN, ISBN) to store three different locations. You could then create charges based on these criteria, which might work for your scenario depending on how you charge.

Beyond that, I haven't seen anything that's more flexible in the extension store, so unless someone posts some other ideas, you'll likely need to have it custom-coded.
