Supported OpenCart Versions:
================
All 1.5.x versions

What does it do:
================
Adds a new "Price Per Char" field for Text and Textarea option types
The cost is autoupdated on the product page and is reflected when added to the cart
You can have multiple text fields, all with different pricing schemas on the same product.

Requirements:
==============
* You will need to have the latest vQmod engine installed (http://vQmod.com)

Main features:
==============
* Simple vQmod script handles small core edits
* Multiple Text or Textareas per product, each with separate pricing
* Instant Javascript update of option cost as characters are entered
* Should work with most themes out of the box, otherwise it is simply minor alterations
* Works at the "Option" level so any product that has the option assigned will utilize the same character price calculations.
* Compatible with the "Options Max Length" mod for limiting max characters entered.

This is just what I need, however I want a 'set price' for unlimited characters.

Is that possible with any extension?

no worries, Thanks for the quick reply. I've set up a selection box for customers to pay if they want engraving to fix the issue.

Hey I am not sure if there is any help out there but I am trying to find a way to make it so the extension only charges the customer after they reach a certain amount of characters.

If anyone can give me a hand that would be great.

Thanks,

Jamie M.

Hi,
I have purchased your extension some time ago and it used to work fine
but recently a customer has managed to find a workaround to fool the
plug-in: when text is pasted, then it is not charged extra for
characters over specified amount of free characters.
In this particular case, amount of free characters is 55, then I charge
for extra characters (excluding spaces) in order to discourage people
from entering longer messages. Maximum number of characters that are
accepted by the box is 70.
Using copy-paste method, it is possible to fool extension, so it will
not charge for longer message when message is less or equal 70 characters.
Could you please suggest a solution for this as I cannot afford to spend
any more time than specified in free message, I don't want to put people
completely off (and loose more demanding customers) by restricting the
message length to 55 characters.

The address of one of the product pages is:

Best Regards
Maciej
