Yeah, I know the feeling of not being able to see the forest through the trees. In order to see the forest you need to see through customer eyes. You either need a customer who gives you the input or even better, you need to use the product yourself.
I am involved in developing a little OC based shop myself, so I'd like to think that I see at least part of the forest
As for the endless scrolling feature, I couldn't get the idea out of my head until I put it in action - so it was yet another sleepless night.

Hi,
I like your module very much as far as I have seen it, but unfortunatly I cannot get it to work on my website.
http://bit.ly/QSIN70 is a link to a product page. On top of the page an error is shown, and due to this error the module is not working propperly. I tried re-installing it but this did not help.
Could you help me out? Please do not name the website itself or link it directly due to google indexation

It seems that the database table "product" is missing the "auto_similar" column. This should be added automatically when you install the extension via the admin panel. The Similar Products extension settings page may also display a warning if the database modifications are incomplete.

This indicates that either vQmod is not installed, if so, then please install it; or the similar_products.xml script is failing at some point in which case see the vqmod log file and try to fix the erroneous part.

Both of these are not the problem, I have other vqmod's installed and they work properly.
I also checked the log, but there are no issues there

Then another vqmod must be masking the problem. Remove all other vqmods and see if that fixes the isssue. Don't forget to clear the vqmod cache if you have it enabled. If it does, then it is a masked conflict with another vQmod. The problem must be related to vQmod, because that is how the function is added to the product model.

I deleted the cache and all modules and the error was still there,
then I re-uploaded all the other modules and the error is gone, in the admin the module shows to be active, but on the product page, on which the error is gone, the module does not show up

I guess I would need to take a look myself, but currently I am leaving for a two weeks vacation and I don't have the time any more. I'll take a look when I'm back starting August 26.

The error itself is not related to Similar Products extension, as it does not use the variable "currencycode ". The error must be caused by another installed extension/vqmod (possibly related to currency).

The layouts that I am using are based on the product layout its just some of the products need to have separate versions of another module, so I copied the product page and added another name to the template ie product1.tpl product2.tpl.
Is there no way to have the module work with these versions of the product template?

The operation description clearly states that this is a one-time operation, therefore it will revert to the default values. This is to avoid accidental overwriting of the values when modifying extension settings.
