JSON Error with eWay Rapid and Aceshop (Opencart)

Hello
I am running Aceshop (Opencart 1.5.1.3) in Joomla.

When using the eWay Australia Rapid 3.2 payment module I am recieving the folowing error message when pay by credit cad is selected and I click the continue button:
SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

<b>Fatal error</b>: require_once() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required '' (include_path='.:/opt/php53/lib/php') in <b>/home/xxxx/public_html/components/com_aceshop/opencart/vqmod/vqcache/vq2-catalog_controller_payment_ewaysharedpage.php</b> on line <b>22</b><br />
I was hoping someone might be able to advise e on how to fix this problem. I have searched the forum here and found similar issues but no solutions.

contact the developer? Usually they will assist you with it

Thank you for your reply.
I have contacted the Aceshop developer and await their response. Although they listened, eWay support did not want to get involved.
