Hi all,
I'm having trouble with the sortorder of the subcategories (Open Cart 1.5.6.1).
The parent categories are sorted well as configured in the admin, but the subcategory are in the admin all configured as '1' under sort order. In the shop, the subcategories are shown in a complete random order.
Is there a way to set the sort order of subcategories?

In your admin panel, open the subcategory and click on the data tab. At the bottom of the page is a "sort order" option; enter the order you want the subcategory to appear in. It will not display on the admin panel Category main page.

You just have to replace a line of code in the admin/model/catalog/category.php file

It certainly does show the correct sort order for the sub-categories after making that change on 1.5.6, much more helpful now - thanks for the link treasuresjewelry!
