(This to help other threads to be clean of repeating always the same questions and answers about this).
Basically: there is yet no straight release management - therefore no exact date when it will be released!
Asking every day again the same questions will help nobody.
Q: is there somewhere a demo?
A: Currently no, but everybody is invited to get the code from https://github.com/opencart/opencart and report any bug at GitHub in the Issue Tracker: https://github.com/opencart/opencart/issues

I just try to find more info about opencart 2.0 and I found this:

I think responsive and mobile gadget support is a must now.
Anybody know where we can see 2.0 beta version live to test?
I think with beta testing, we can test and give reports if something wrong.
If not yet, I hope somebody can build the demo

Many more changes was made to opencart 2.0 so it delayed the release. I see that as a good thing as more features would arrive with the new version and it would be much more stable than a rush released 
While there is not already a dedicated forum for OpenCart 2.x, please post all your questions here.
In general:

Does the opencart 2.0 will be much faster? Many people complain that version 1.x is slow on default installation.
And is there any live demo or screenshot of opencart 2.0?

Any chance of OC2 solving the old problem of making Region/State field invisible for us in countries not using this?
(And by the way, the last edition I tried from Github still uses the pre-2007 counties/regions for Denmark, which has no postal significance. Also, the Faroe Islands are listed as a region of Denmark, whereas Greenland is listed as country on it's own - and with three postally useless regions. Since both Greenland and the Faroes are part of Denmark, but not of the EU, I guess it woold make sense to list both of them as separate countries.)

Maybe we will see at the end of Year 2014. But now the version at github is looking awesome but have lots of bugs and functionalities pending. Opencart Security also improved in this version.
