OpenCart Email SMTP Office365 Not Working

New installation
Mail config:
SMTP
smtp.office365.com

<password>
port: 587
timeout: 5

Contact Us yields> Notice: Error: EHLO not accepted from server! ....\library\mail.php on line 201
I know the username and password are correct, using it to work on their SharePoint Online site.

Tried replacing SERVER_NAME with SERVER_ADDR which was mentioned in a post

Tried changing $crlf, when it is \n receive AUTH LOGIN message, when it is \n\n\n (saw in another post) or \n get EHLO above

I am out of ideas....any suggestions
