Hi,

I've installed the Export/Import Tool on OpenCart 1.5.6.1 and in the System > Export/Import page there's only one export option and it only exports the categories to a Excel spreadsheet. Maybe I'm missing something? The categories are fine, I'd really prefer if it would export the products and their options, which is what it says it'll do in the extension's description.
The Import/Export Tool allows the admin user to do a bulk export of all the categories, products, and product options to an Excel spreadsheet file.
I followed the instructions to the letter and did the vqmod install, not the override. There are no logs in the vqmod directory so I presume no errors have been generated yet. It's a work-in-progress so the site hasn't gone live as yet, so it's quite a new install and it was 1.5.6.1 from the beginning - no updates were applied.

Anyone with any ideas or if someone wants to point out my stupidity because it could be something I've missed, please feel free. Thank you in advance for any help.

Which export tool?
If JNeuhoff's export tool, it should be in another tab.

Hi Cue4cheap,

Thanks for replying. Yup, that's the one. I'm not seeing tabs on the page. I've attached a screenshot. Could it be somewhere else less obvious? I've looked and can't see anything.

I note that even though I downloaded the 1.5.6.1 extension, the vqmod XML file states it's 1.5.5.x. I wonder if it's a problem with the vqmod side of the extension?

Okay so we are on the same page.
When you click the "Export" it will create a file that you download. You open that downloaded file in open office or MS Excel and in open office or MS Excel you will see 8 tabs.

Ah Jaysus. You got me! I'm Excel illiterate, even though I've used it a million times. :bash:

I see the tabs now. I was almost at the point where I was going to attempt at coding my own extension! PHP I can do. Excel...well...

So to import, would I need to have the sheet with all 8 tabs or could I just one 1 tab with the name "Products" (for example) and it'll import just fine? I assume if the product ID exists, it'll update the product with the amended values and not duplicate it? I'll do my own tests but I just thought I'd ask here anyways.

Thanks again. I'll open my eyes wider next time. God damnit!

You need it all and you need all the products and options, etc.
If you remove one it'll be removed from the database.
It removes all products, options, etc then imports them fresh. In other words his extension currently does a complete import versus and incremental import.
