Forgive my ignorance as I'm a newbie. Everything seems to be working fine except for this one thing. When I search for the website URL on google it appears to be on maintenance mode when I've turned on the maintenance mode in "system/server/maintenance mode/no". Could someone pls advice?

OpenCart version: Version 1.4.9.1
URL: http://suvrna.com
Google search result for suvrna.com: http://www.google.com.my/search?source= ... h&aq=f&oq=

It's probably cached in Google from when you had maintenance mode turned on. Once they crawl it again it should update.

I heart cmd-f, cmd-c, cmd-v, cmd-z + vQmod.
My favourite page...
v1.5.4.1

There's no set time. Next time, try putting Disallow: / into your robots.txt file but remember to remove it once you're out of maintenance mode.

Honestly, I don't know that Attracta does a great job. The best way to check is to go to google.com and type in site:yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com of course) and see if it shows up there.

I would recommend taking ownership of the site in Google Webmaster Tools if you haven't already. Once you've done that, you can "Fetch As Google" and see your site as google sees it. That screenshot will allow you to determine if Google is seeing something you don't!

That said, I do think that it's most likely that Google cached your page when you were in maintenance mode. However, it's always possible you have a weird bug or something!

It will index what it sees when it visits, and anyone hitting the Maintenance link in a search datadump when the shop is in normal mode will see the normal shop. You can embellish the Maintenance screen with a Welcome or other module that provides something to read, and in language/ files you can for the purpose also rename Maintenance (Relax with Us, perhaps).

Let me improve that answer... Login to http://www.google.com/webmasters/

Then click onto your website, click google index on the left hand side.

click removeurl and enter the maintenance URL
