How to change the back ground color

I need to know how to change the back ground color on the Home Page Mode.

My scripting color is a grey and the Home page mod makes everything with a white back ground so it doesnt match the rest of my site.

What html code can I use to make it change the back ground color, or do I have to edit something in the open cart?

I want the white part of it to match the grey. I tried a couple of html color codes to change the background, and that didnt work. Than I tried to upload a picture to the background. Just a giant grey square so that the background would match.

Funny thing about that, is that it worked fine in the admin section, but wouldnt take on the website.

I also tried to edit the CSS styling sheet in the Home Page Mod, and I changed all the background colors to "929292" and still got nothing.
