Sounds great. I'll be purchasing a copy and trying it out. Just to be 100% sure, you are saying this will work with V1.5.1.3 and it is a VQMOD installation? I did not see that in the documentation.
So with this VQMOD, will I be able to setup an opencart webstore within stamps.com? And by refreshing the webstore, it will automatically import my orders and fill in the necessary fields?
Is there any more documentation included with the download?
I am very interested in this and it will save me a lot of time if it works like the other stamps.com webstores.
Thanks for your efforts with this.

Currently, what it does is creating the stamps based on each total stamps indicated from the admin products while connecting to USPS and saves the returned response into the order. The results can also be viewed from the admin orders products and order history upon completed order statuses.

I guess I don't quite understand this extension.
Is this designed to integrate with Stamps.com postage service so the stamps.com software can import all my opencart orders into the batch section where I can then print all the postage labels for my opencart orders.
Sorry if I am confused, I do not understand the details of integrating something like this. What I am a bit confused about is why opencart needs to connect to the USPS service and return responses to the order.
The way I saw it working is when asked, opencart would supply stamps.com software the necessary information to fill in the postage label fields within the batch process.
For example, when I receive paypal orders, or ebay orders, I simply go to stamps.com software, click on refresh for my paypal webstore, and my ebay webstore, and all the orders come up. Then I print the labels all at once.
I would like to add an opencart webstore so all my opencart orders also come into stamps.com the same way.
If this is what it already does, I apologize for the confusion. I just want to make sure I understand what I will be purchasing and installing.
Thanks again for your support on this.

This is not what this extension does. If you go back to the first page of this topic, the first few posts will already explain what this subject is desperately about and it certainly ain't about creating a web store.I would like to add an opencart webstore so all my opencart orders also come into stamps.com the same way.

I understand that this extensions will not create a webstore. The opencart webstore would be created within stamps.com manually by the user. Then using this stamps.com created webstore, it will go to opencart and import all the order data. When creating the stamps.com webstore you will need to select one of a few options for importing data. This option would depend on how the extension works with stamps.com.
This is how stamps.com batch process works with the other integrated payment methods such as ebay and paypal. And based on the subject of this thread, and some of the questions asked, it looks like people are looking for a Stamps.com integration into OpenCart.
Maybe a quick explanation will help. If you could tell us once the extensions is installed, what steps are necessary within stamps.com to import the opencart order information.
If this extensions has nothing to do with the Stamps.com software, then I am way off and very confused.
Just trying to learn as I go along. Thanks for your patience with all my questions.

Then, no, it has nothing to do with stamps.com software. It has rather something to do with their API.

Thank you for the explanation. I guess I was a little mislead. Your extensions does state Stamps.com API. I just don't understand a lot of the details.
Well I believe the original question on this thread was to find someone to develop a Stamps.com integration into the stamps.com software. This would allow stamps.com users to create an opencart webstore within stamps.com, and import all the opencart orders into the batch process for quick processing and printing all at once.
Based on what Stamps.com told me, this is something that can be done, but will require an opencart developer to get the necessary information from Stamps.com.
Thanks for your time and hopefully your API sells well.

I know if someone puts this together they can easily sell it as an open cart extension. Stamps.com is a very popular postage service at an affordable price. Something that should go well with Opencart.
If it could be designed in such a way that an opencart webstore could be created within stamps.com, then we could import all the opencart orders just like one may do within ebay or paypal.
I would be more than happy to test anything out and give any feedback. This is something I have been also looking for for a while.
Thanks.

I decided to give ShipRush a try. Looks like it will integrate nicely into opencart and do everything needed. For an additional $14.00 / mo. if it works out well, it will be worth every penny. Works just like the stamps.com software, but allows you to have a direct opencart store. Plus it has a lot more features and seems to be a much more powerful interface.
gbisqit,
You may want to also look into ShipRush for stamps.com. I read through their documentation and talked with a tech support person on the phone for 1/2 hour and I am totally sold. Very friendly and supportive. Already upgraded my stamps.com plan and will get started with ShipRush today.

ShipRush is a nice piece of software, but still lacking some major features. You can not easily print international postage labels from the bulk section due to the limitations they have on the customs forms. There are ways around it, but you need to setup your store to work with, and even then it is not perfect. This is a bit of a show stopper for me, but I may still give it a try since nothing else is available to integrate with stamps.com.
I've requested some features which would make it more user friendly and configurable, so hopefully they will add these in the near future. At that time I would 100% switch over to ShipRush.
But if someone came up with a direct stamps.com integration, that would be excellent.

With some great info from stamps.com, I am now able to easily get all my opencart orders into stamps.com bulk section with all the correct information.
I installed the Order Manager extension http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=3296 which allows to import all orders into an .XLS format. Within Stamps.com, I can create a webstore that imports .XLS files with very nice mapping available from the spreadsheet to stamps.com fields. Once it is setup it seems to work great. I also set my opencart status for paid orders to 'processed' instead of 'completed'. Once the orders are printed I can simple update the status to complete to all orders at once. (feature of Order Manager).
When I am ready to batch print my opencart orders from stamps.com I follow a few simple steps.
1. Go into opencart dashboard, sales, orders
2. check all orders that show a 'processed'
3. click the 'export selected' button (I overwrite the previous downloaded file each time to keep the same file name)
4. Go to Stamps.com software and click the 'refresh' button for my opencart webstore
All orders are now imported into batch section with all appropriate information (domestic and international)
5. Go back to my opencart dashboard window and press the 'update selected' button and change the status to 'completed'. (all orders are already checked from step 2).
These steps take less than 1 min. to complete and my orders are ready to go within stamps.com. Compared to having to import from paypal, verify addresses, and e-mails to make sure there are no differences, this is a HUGE time saver, and there is no room for error (so far). The only information that is ever imported is what the customer entered on the website. Hopefully this will continue to run well without any snags.
I hope this is useful for others. It is the closest thing I have found to importing orders directly into stamps.com from opencart.

If you are talking about the Order Manager extension, I just clicked on the link and it seemed to work fine.
I've been using the described method I posted above for well over a year now and it has been great. Ship orders every day of the week with no problems so far.

This is the extension I used to export orders to excel. Once in Excel you can use stamps.com ODBC webstore and map over the necessary fields. The ODBC when mapped correctly will import the orders from excel into stamps.com.

I needed this hooked up to my store as well. I have ZenCart AND OpenCart installations. One for retail, the other for Wholesale. Well, there is a selection in the Stamps.com desktop software that allows choosing ZenCart, and there is a package of files you can add to your root directory. So hooking up the ZenCart instance was a breeze. Batch works great. So after following the steps for editing the OpenCart files that are actually included in the Stamps.com file package, I opened Stamps.com software and proceeded to do what i did to setup the ZenCart version. However, i then realized there was not a selection for OpenCart in the list of WebStores. I assumed that when you choose one of these, the software then pings the web address you provided with a request for a SPECIFIC file i.e shippingZZencart.php or shippingZOpencart.php - So I basically renamed the opencart version file on my server to match the ZenCart file name - and then in the webstore setup in the stamps software, I chose Zen Cart, but pointed the thing at my OPENCART web address. It hooked up. In otherwords, just rename the ShippingZOpencart.php to one of the other storename files and then choose that store in the WebStore selection list.
Nice work around for this.
So do you basically import your orders from opencart as you would from ebay? Do they go directly into the batch?
If so, this is much better than the way I have been doing it by exporting opencart orders to excel, then importing them into stamps.com. One less step!
You mention a few things I have not come across. You mention there are opencart files included with Stamps.com file package? Are these new, because I have not seen them before. How do you get them?
I know there will be a number of people including myself interested in getting this to work. I'll do some more research, but any more specific details would be great!
Thanks.
