How to add banners?

I really want some kind of banner across the website. Is there any way you can do that? By banner I mean a line of text moving from for example left to right. Where it would say something like "Sale 50% off" etc. If thats not possible can I have one that is not moving? Can anyone please explain how to step by step? thank you in advance

(1) Find one.-- Locate web-wide in tutorials or elsewhere EXAMPLES of single-line banners or tickers. Some are plain text, some are fancy text, some simulate LEDs or LCDs, etc.. Pick what you like, modify it.

(2) To put it just above menu crossber.-- In /catalog/view/thene/[themename]/common/header.tpl, you can insert, immediately above the code block for the menu crossbar, the code from (1). You may need to space it with leading and trailing <BR> breaks, maybe not.

(3) To put it just below menu crossbar.-- Alternatively, in admin Extensions / Modules / Welcome first Install, then Edit, Insert, and in Source mode insert your code from (1), set position home or default and top, then Save. Source mode will not mess appreciably with the code; wysiwyg mode makes a mess.

For a static banner you can just use the banner module provided by OpenCart.

How can I replace banners ? I tried , still showing but in admin but not in the website. I save after uploading but still they do not show in the website.

botanicalorganic, in admin see BOTH Extensions / Modules / Banners / Edit and System / Layout / Banners / Edit when you set them up.

I have installed 2.0 and I am having issues with the banner and carousel model. it is not showing my images. it just shows a black module about 15px tall. I looked at the html and I can see the images and path and it all looks good but it does not show any suggestions?
