Based on the header.tpl in http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?p=97682#p97682 I created a vQmod, so I don't have to change my original header.tpl.

It is a vQmod file. You need to have vQmod installed, then this file is used to create the changes described in it "on the fly". So you can test this modification without changing any core files.

Since it's a vQmod script you can always give it a shot. If it doesn't work all you have to do is remove the vQmod.
I also have Admin Dashboard and Menu Control which is a commercial mod that does the same thing.
