I am creating a printing store and have hidden the quantity field on the product page as prices are preset by quantity ordered and I have these as product options.
The default behaviour of Opencart is that if someone orders multiple copies of the same product it increases the Quantity field in the cart and checkout. However I found a way to limit the quantity to 1, but if they wish to add another of the same product it will not allow them if this is set.
What I ideally want is to allow multiple quantities but each one gets added as a separate item in the cart.
Possible Solution
I found that adding a text field option in a product to be filled by the customer eg Job Title made each one unique. However I do not really want to display this in the cart as its already crowded. It would be useful to record the Job Title, so is there a way to hide this option in the cart and checkout but show it in their order history and confirmation email?
If I worked out what the option ID was could I use this to hide this option in the cart?
