which encoder do you use, zend or ion cube?

want to make sure we have it, think ion cube might be installed

does this slow things much?

also, would all the code for till magic be installed on our server or would some code be called remotely?

thanks

Welcome to the 20th Century, scanreg, touchscreens have been around for a very long time (prevalent, usable, in 1990s), and can actually be applied (physically) to monitors that do not have them. There are two essential types, skin-sensitive and stylus-sensitive, but they work the same way, there is a fine grid that relates position to whatever is there to be cued. It intervenes where you would ordinarily need a keyboard, mouse, or tablet (a graphics tablet, not a wannabe undersize computer in the recent sense of tablet, such as a certain brand that sells well but in its first three generations knew nothing about JavaScript and was accordingly useless for the majority of the web but people oohed and bought it and wondered why the web didn't work, small wonder). Any suitable code (C++, php, JavaScript, etc.) that can read keyboard, mouse, or tablet input can as readily read touchscreen input.

Exactly butte. Actually when we talk about touch software, we are talking about a convenient interface to the use of the fingers on the screen. The type of code does not really matter.

Scanreg, this POS is installed Opencart root folder, and you can install it on a local server or dedicated or virtual. Never mind.

Thank you very much.

You will not need "ion cube" to handle this POS. The code is available, but can not be modified for resale. It has a proprietary license.

Thank you very much.

1. can we upgrade?

if we start with the small business version, can we upgrade later to the large business, unlimited version later?

2. can this handle multiple physical store locations? what if we have ten stores, each in a different country?

thanks

1. Yes. Version 1 can upgrade to multiple cash cash. Besides releasing versions go as we sell the plugin.
The next version will have a responsive interface.

2.Yes. Use The Till Magic to several shops in different countries.

Thank you

Hi,

Can this system do on the fly sales?
As in cust comes to desk with item that not on system, I want to be able to put it through as miscellaneous and enter price at POS.
Doesn't need to add product to database, just ability to let it sell.

mmmmm. To sell airline tickets? Of course if you can take advantage if it gives opencart options.
But you will not be able to change the price from the same POS. The price must be inserted into the Opencart product edition.
What it can do is to introduce money in the cash register. Or apply discounts at the time.

a few questions that currently arent answered by your demo videos.

we have the intention to utilise a POS of this kind but we have the following in mind:
- product stock in/out take via the "existing" barcodes to be scanned via scanner or even camera of mobile till (tablet - preferably android)
- when using the mobile till, we would like to scan the "existing" product barcode and it should put it into the basket and substract from stock (once the order is complete)
- rather than the need to print the receipt, the receipt should be send via email (would require option to insert email address)
- communication options to be wireless, 3G or 4G

does your plugin support this functionality?

regards
Mark

Hi Mark,

-At this time no camera uses an android tablet.
If you can use any bar code reader, but does not launch the camera from a tablet or mobile by default.

- The functionality of a product removed from the cart through the barcode is something that if we are going to implement in the next version.

-Also we will launch this feature in the next version (quite sure)

- This plugin works in the cloud, and therefore only need an internet connection (lan, wifi, 3g or 4g) and a browser to handle it.

Thanks.

That would go over very well, since OC branded barcode scanners would be known to work with OC.

A trick used in print and photocopy shops here, over the counter, is to have several pages for the usual customer routines, augmented by a job-done printout from the machine. Code from the latter is taken to the thin notebook of the former, the proper big enough box is barcode scanned, and then the cash register knows what to do with it. With OC that would readily lend itself to telephone, over counter, and other off-line orders. With a known good OC branded unit, software could readily accommodate scanning, whether provided in core or, additionally or instead, in extensions.
