Featured Module Database Calls

Hi,

I've been trying to duplicate the featured module so that we can have multiple sections on our website and define which products go into each one. Everything works fine except in the settings table in the database, it is entering the following group/value settings:

homeproducts | product
homeproducts | featured_product
homeproducts | featured_module


Could someone please tell me how/where these values are entered so that I can modify them? I have tried editing the function $this->model_setting_setting->editSetting('homeproducts', $this->request->post); without much success.
