Need help with USPS shipping

Hi everyone,
My web site was finally got switch production by USPS. It took me awhile to convice USPS that it is not possible to test the shipping API as they wanted.

I ran into another minor problem. When I do check out, on the shipping options it displayed like this:

Priority Mail Express 1-Day^™ $18.10
Priority Mail 2-Day^™ $5.80
Standard Post^®

Why there is 

How can I fix that? Thank you very much in advance for helping.

Question (Johnathan), what about using \ escapes in the instances where the original fix and xml followup fix have apparently not worked escaping the other way?

I revised the tutorial to show the fix I use myself, which should be more comprehensive than BionicBill's fix. I still link to that one, in case mine doesn't work for people.
