Hi there,

I'm trying to find a solution for a bit of an odd problem - my OpenCart 1.5.5.1 site seems to work just fine in all other browsers but IE7 has this one intractable bug: You can't add a product to a cart if you've selected an option.

Has anyone come across this one before?

Is it in "compatibility mode"? Try toggling that. (IE itself IS one intractable bug.)

Does IE7 have compatibility mode? I thought it was only an IE8 feature?

If it weren't for the number of users making purchases with IE7 on the current site, I wouldn't even try!

I don't recall and didn't look it up, the way it upgrades undermines expedience of multiple versions on one machine and it went bye bye. The problem may trace to .js unrelated to what happened to ckeditor. On July 11 or so two versions of ckeditor were released several hours apart, 4.1.x which retained support for IE7, and the initial 4.2.x which dropped support for IE7. Prior changes in .js libraries may have been drawn from so as to undermine IE7 in 1.5.5.1 in some circumstances -- it has not been rampant, you may be the first to experience it, and if the cause is simple it may owe to one of the .js files. Need to update 1.5.5.1 with fresh Full or Standard ckeditor from ckeditor.com/download/ or other sources has been known since early April, and at least the 4.1.x of July works well, and in several instances the 4.2.x of July has not. If you try replacing ckeditor, you may be happier trying 4.1.x than 4.2.x. That may or may not dispense with the IE7 problem. You can rename your ckeditor tree before bringing in a new one, so that you can quickly revert if you prefer that (I'm not aware of anyone who went back).
